Facilities to close as part of Wellington revamp

Some facilities at Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre are to close on 14 March in order to allow work to be carried out on a major scheme to regenerate the town centre.
The swimming pool; health suite; coffee shop; body treatments; and function room will shut temporarily hile work is carried out, although the fitness suite will remain open. Telford and Wrekin Council is investing £8.5m in the creation of Wellington Civic Quarter, which will include the remodelling and refurbishment of the centre's facilities.
Stephen Bentley, the council's cabinet member for active lifestyles, said: "We have worked hard to ensure there are viable alternatives in place while certain facilities at the leisure centre are out of action."
