EvianSpa launches treatment soundscapes to celebrate the lifecycle of its famed water
EvianSpa has revealed fifteen original compositions to be played during treatments, to elevate the quality and emotional resonance of treatments.
The evianSpa Musical Universe has been developed by French composer and sound designer Romain Benitez of Opus All to complement the evianSpa concept.
Patrick Saussay, founder and CEO of Global Project and Spa Advisory, worked on the project, which took eight months to complete. Saussay is a consultant and development manager for the evianSpa brand.
The concept is built around four stages of the famous water cycle as it travels through the French Alps.
• Celestial – The mineral has origins as rain or snow, falling on the Gavot plateau.
• Mineral – It is filtered through glacial rock for more than 15 years to achieve its rich mineral water status.
• Precious – It then reaches a precious spring.
• Vitality – The water bursts from the source with energy and vitality.
The fifteen new compositions range from 45 to 180 minutes. The Rain Massage is the only treatment on the menu that uses no music – only the natural sound of water is played.
The celestial dimension composition features music that is said to build gradually “towards a suspended realm” that allows a guest to drift “between breath and silence.” The music is described as “an airy, enveloping work, conceived to accompany a state of deep relaxation.”
The mineral dimension composition is meant to ground the guest.
The composition for the precious dimension is described as elegant and luminous, using delicate sonic details.
The vitalising dimension music offers an energetic, bright and invigorating sound immersion and is designed to stimulate, clarify and restore the body and mind.
Saussay said: “I've always considered that music is not just background sound but a core element of the in-cabin experience, capable of enhancing both the perception and impact of a treatment.
“Very often the music is random, lounge, classic, ‘Asian-ish’ – and not always or really connected with the specificity of each treatment,” he added. “My wish was to use its limitless emotional potential to improve the guest experience and also the evianSpa identity.”
The compositions are being rolled out across the portfolio of evianSpas.
