Everyman acquires Screen Cinemas
Everyman Media Group has acquired independent cinema chain Screen Cinemas for an undisclosed sum.
Everyman, which already owns the Everyman Cinema Club, bought the seven Screen sites – located primarily in London and the South East – as part of an ongoing expansion plan that aims to open 50 venues across the country in 10 years.
The portfolio includes three London sites (Baker Street, Islington, and Haverstock Hill) as well as cinemas in Oxted, Winchester, Walton-on-Thames and Reigate. There is also a further site in Hammersmith in the pipeline.
Daniel Broch, CEO and founder of Everyman Media Group said: “This acquisition marks the true beginning of our quest to invigorate communities all over the UK.”
The company is backed by investors including Adam and Sam Kaye, the founders of the ASK and Zizzi restaurant chains and The Lewis Trust Group, which incorporates business such as River Island and Acorn Hotels.
Investment banking boutique Livingstone Partners advised Screen Cinemas on the sale.
