Encouraging School Children to get Fitter

Staff from Hertsmere Leisure have been visiting local schools in the Borehamwood area to encourage children to become healthier and fitter by eating nutritious foods and exercising regularly.
Annie Hardwick, a teacher from Monksmead school, said: “The children had a great time and it wasn’t until they had a Fit Zone session that they realised how unfit they truly are.”
The Fit Zone is specially designed equipment set in a brightly coloured area with a large matted floor space for group activities, games and circuits. It has been created by Hertsmere to combat the growing epidemic of childhood obesity in the UK.
