Eastbourne Pier has been put up for sale by its owner Six Piers.
The 1,000ft long, Grade II-listed Victorian pier - which first opened in 1870 - boasts two bars, an amusement arcade, shops and the Atlantis nightclub.
Richard Baldwin of Humberts Leisure, which is handling the sale, said: "This is a very exciting opportunity for an entrepreneur to purchase a restored Victorian gem at a time when the holiday market in the UK is seeing substantial growth as people turn to 'staycations' following the economic downturn.
"Opportunities like this are few and far between and we expect keen interest, particularly given the strong UK holiday market."
