ECSITE members prepare for London networking
London is the setting for this year's annual conference of the European Collaborative for Science, Industry & Technology Exhibitions, which runs from 14-16 November.
The Natural History Museum and Science Museum will be co-hosts, and Attractions Management is the official publication for the conference.
Delegates will be drawn from the 300-strong ECSITE network, which includes science centres, science and natural history museums, zoos and aquariums from over 50 countries.
'Sharing ideas, developing skills, building networks' is the overarching theme for the event, which is organised into several strands. These include strategy sessions, dealing with policy questions, panels and roundtables discussing broad issues and exchanging expertise, workshops tackling practical and operational questions, and panorama presentations to promote new projects, exhibitions and developments.
Besides the annual conference programme, which includes special Insight sessions involving the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum, there are plenty of opportunities for delegates to network and to explore new ideas. There are pre-conference overnight tours on 12-13 November. Delegates can choose between a North Tour taking in Magna in Rotherham (www.magnatrust.org) and Life Interactive World in Newcastle (www.centre-for-life.co.uk) or a West Tour. This enables delegates to visit the at-Bristol development and the Eden Project. Alternatively, several ECSITE member institutions are happy to welcome visitors who make their own plans to visit on 12 November. For more details, e-mail [email protected].
The conference will be held at the Millennium Conference Centre and for the most up-to-date information, check out www.ecsite.net or call +32 2 649 73 83
