Braunstone sports complex

Plans have been unveiled for a sports centre in Braunstone, Leicester.
The £9.5m complex will feature a 25m four-lane pool, a 25m eight-lane pool, as well as a six-court sports hall and gym. Designed by S&P Architects, the centre will replace the demolished St Margaret's Baths and Granby Hills. The project will be funded by Leicester City Council with £7m, £2m from Sport England and a further £1m from Braunstone Community Association.
A planning application is due to be considered in February and the opening is due October 2004.
