The initiative, supported by Escape Fitness, is introducing after-school amateur boxing classes for boys and girls which can lead to accredited awards from the Amateur Boxing Association.
Chris Davitt, school sports coordinator for Peterborough, believes the sessions will improve discipline and attendance.
He said: “After-school boxing classes are all about having fun, learning new skills and improving fitness. Our experience has shown that children who take part in physical activity in school have a higher record of attendance than those that don’t.”
