North Country Leisure (NCL) Alnwick has opened new facilities at two of its leisure centres.
A new fitness suite has been added to the Coquetdale Swimming and Fitness Centre in Rothbury, while Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre now boasts a new exercise studio for group activities.
The studio at Willowburn was funded by a £510,000 grant from Alnwick District Council and will be used to offer classes and activities including dance, aerobics and martial arts. T
The £255,000 development at Coquetdale Swimming and Fitness Centre, also funded by Alnwick District Council, has seen the introduction of more than 20 new pieces of cv and resistance equipment.
The development project was managed by a partnership including CL Alnwick, Dr Thomlinson Trust, Alnwick District Council (ADC) and Northumberland County Council.
ADC vice chair, Audrey Jones, said: "We've had a long term commitment to improve sport and leisure opportunities in the district and the big financial contribution we have made to these projects is testament to this commitment."
