– Jenny Patrickson

Active IQ has launched two new qualifications – the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Fitness and Level 3 Diploma in Health and Fitness – to help engage learners in an industry-ready training experience that can be tailored to suit local employer needs.

“I’m delighted to see these qualifications become available just as the industry starts to regroup after the pandemic,” says Jenny Patrickson, managing director at Active IQ.

“An ideal start point for anyone looking to enter our industry, both options are designed to give learners the opportunity to experience the active leisure industry as a whole. In this way, learners will be given fantastic opportunities for employment in a variety of roles and with a range of clients.”

Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Health and Fitness

This qualification aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan, deliver and supervise safe and effective exercise programmes within a gym or health club environment.

Learners on the Level 3 Diploma course will also participate in technology in sport and exercise module.

Work ready

Both qualifications will ensure learners are fully ready for the workplace.

Participants will have the opportunity to go above and beyond the entry requirements for the industry by gaining valuable additional CPD skills such as studio cycling, circuits, group training, training in different environments and giving learners a valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of the active leisure sector.

Mapping to CIMSPA Standards

Both qualifications have been submitted to the ESFA and are eligible for funding, plus their mandatory unit to the CIMSPA professional standard for Gym Instructing.

In addition, both qualifications have a range of optional units which enable centres to tailor them to meet learner needs and local employer demand:
