AALARA takes to the sky
Over the last couple of weeks, representatives of the AALARA board have been visiting major capital cities to meet with members and prospective members to update them on current industry issues and networking with amusement and leisure industry colleagues.
The travelling ‘roadshow’ took us to the RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane, Luna Park in Melbourne, the Sydney Showgrounds, the Adelaide Showgrounds and finally Adventure World in Perth.
Most of the events were quite well attended and we received some positive feedback from attendees, especially from the Perth contingent who really appreciated the fact that we had come over there to see them.
We covered a range of topics including an overview of AALARA activities and our recent alliance with IAAPA as well as topical legislative and Australian standard updates.
Representatives from Workcover, Work Safe and Safe Work attended in each state which was appreciated by the members who attended and who could ask questions in a relaxed forum.
I would like to thank the other board members who assisted me with the presentations; Jeanna Zacchini, Stan Durkin, Steve Peet, Greg O’Neill and Michael Collins.
Also a big thanks to Kim Hackwood who co-ordinated all the bookings for us and to the venues listed above who hosted the seminars.
We feel that they were successful, but we would like some feedback from you – so if you would like these to occur again, please give Kim some feedback on what topics you would like us to include.
