A successful year for AALARA and an exciting year ahead
Another year has flown past and what a year we’ve had.
Another successful conference in May, committees formed in the Indoor Play and Go Kart sectors, more government lobbying for funds to help educate the industry, AALARA’s ongoing involvement with the IAAPA International Standards Harmonisation Group and planning for a bigger and better conference and trade show in May 2007.
I was lucky enough to attend the IAAPA Amusement Expo in Atlanta during November, there didn’t seem to be as many Australians as last year but I think we will see more there next year with the move back to Orlando.
This really is a standout event. I spent time on the trade show floor talking to exhibitors about the AALARA Conference & Trade Show, meeting industry representatives from around the world, enjoying some informative educational seminars and generally having my socks blown off at the size and content of this event.
I’ve had the opportunity to go through the program for the AALARA Conference and Trade Show coming up 13-16 May 2007 and it looks very exciting and of course don’t forget we’re going to have a trade show as well this year. Kim and myself have had terrific feedback from past and potentially new exhibitors.
Thanks to those who joined us for the Christmas get together held at Sydney Showgrounds on 7 December, it was a fun night and a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new ones.
I once again have to thank the dedicated team of volunteers who make up the AALARA board and of course Kim Hackwood who has been hard at work answering your queries, putting together the AALARA Conference and Trade Show, government funding submissions, the AALARA ezine, and so the list goes on. Don’t forget the board are there on your behalf and we are always keen for your input and feedback to help continuing to evolve the Association and make it work for you.
Don't forget to put the 2007 AALARA Conference & Trade Show in your diary, we're heading back to Conrad Jupiter's Hotel and Casino 13-16 May 2007.
On behalf of the board and secretariat have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and we wish you a safe and profitable holiday period.
