Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, officially opened on 29 August 2016 and involved a partnership with Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University and Life Fitness to provide the world-class sports facility with fitness equipment to benefit both students and local community.

The new GB£33m centre, which saw the university work alongside sportscotland and the City of Edinburgh Council, is the performance home of Scottish Football and Scottish Rugby as well as Basketball, Netball and Handball.

Life Fitness was briefed to provide top-of-the-line equipment for Oriam’s fitness centre, facilitating the preparation and development of performance athletes, coaches and sports teams, whilst inspiring local residents through the superior facilities available on their doorstep.

A total of 85 pieces of premium fitness equipment were installed with 64 cardiovascular stations including Life Fitness Row GX Trainers as well as Upright and Recumbent Bikes, FlexStriders, PowerMills, Treadmills and Cross Trainers with Discover SE consoles to redefine the workout experience with the most advanced technology.

The custom built gym features 19 strength stations comprising Hammer Strength HD Elite Power Racks and Benches, Signature Series Cable Motion Dual Adjustable Pulleys and Insignia Series selectorised strength equipment.

To meet the demand for functional group training, Oriam chose to install SYNRGY360 and the first SYNRGY BlueSky outdoor training station in Scotland.

Oriam offers memberships from GB£25 per month and is open to the public for tours.
