Willmott Dixon chosen for Redcar scheme
Hertfordshire-based construction group Willmott Dixon has been appointed to build a new £31m leisure, business support and community facility in Redcar, north east England.
The scheme - designed by Plus3 Architects and S&P Architects - was given final approval by planning officials at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council (RCBC) last September.
A six-lane, 25m swimming pool, a training pool and a learner pool will form part of the new complex, along with a fitness suite; a junior gym; a sports hall; and a dance hall.
Elsewhere, the building will house business space for small- to medium-sized enterprises; a debating chamber; and a new home for the town's registry office.
RCBC leader George Dunning said: "The new leisure, business support and community facility in the heart of Redcar will create a real attraction for residents and visitors to the town."
