East Northamptonshire Council opens temporary budget gym during Nene Centre closure

East Northamptonshire Council has launched a temporary budget gym in Thrapston to cater for gym goers while the Nene Centre is closed for a comprehensive redevelopment.
The Nene Centre closed this month for a period of nine months for works that include the installation of an enhanced fitness suite and new roof.
The temporary gym is based directly opposite the Nene Centre and includes a number of cv and resistance stations and a freeweights area.
Monthly membership will cost £9.99 and includes group classes at the Plaza Centre and Snooks in Raunds.
The Nene Centre redevelopment is part of the council's £2m investment in its leisure centres, which also includes a refurbishment of the Pemberton Centre in Rushden.
