East Ayrshire sports centre nears opening

East Ayrshire Council (EAC) has confirmed that a new £4.3m sports centre will open to the public next month in Stewarton, Scotland.
Stewarton Sports Centre will boast a hall with sprung Granwood floor, which will be able to accommodate a range of sports such as badminton, basketball, table tennis and trampolining.
A Body Station Gym-branded conditioning suite will comprise cardiovascular and resistance equipment, while a dance studio and a FIFA 1*-accredited synthetic pitch will also feature.
The facility has been designed by the local authority's in-house architects and has been built by Barr, with bookings now being taken ahead of the venue's opening.
EAC spokesperson for improving community health and wellbeing John McKay said: "This new sports centre will be fantastic for Stewarton and the whole area.
"The FIFA 1 accredited floodlit synthetic grass pitch will be a winner with local footballers as it can be used all year round."
