South Wales has seen the arrival of its third independent Power Plate Studio, with the opening of Power Vibe at Tonyrefail in Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough.

Helen Hoare, together with her husband Paul, started Power Vibe with an investment of £40,000, turning a former office into a fitness studio and equipping it with five Power Plate® pro5™ machines. Helen said: "I was first introduced to vibration training several years ago when a Power Plate studio opened near to where I worked. It was the ideal lunchtime exercise option as it allowed me to get a full body workout, without working up too much of a sweat."

"I quickly learned that Power Plate benefitted many people - from those looking to improve their fitness to those with health issues such as arthritis and cystic fibrosis - and I decided I wanted to offer local people the chance to experience the product themselves." The Power Plate machine works by transferring vibrations throughout the body. As a pose is held or an exercise performed on its vibrating platform, it causes the muscles to respond many times per second, meaning shorter sessions which are claimed to yield faster results.

Classes at Power Vibe take 25 minutes, and start every half hour. Different classes are held each day, so members can choose a programme that will help them meet their goals. The class timetable includes classes such as, legs, bums and tums, abs blast, upper body, cardio, anti-cellulite and whole body workout. More new classes are planned, including Power Plate Boxing during 2012.
