Discovering High Tech Strength Equipment
Leading fitness supplier Precor recently launched the Discovery Line Plate-Loaded range of strength equipment. Featuring seven pieces, combining all the foundational performance elements demanded from a strength line, the range is designed for the first-time user and the seasoned athlete alike, and will no doubt be another highlight in fitness facilities.
The range initially includes a Chest Press, Incline Press, Shoulder Press, Pull Down, Seated Row, Low Row and Calf Raise. The Plate-Loaded equipment provides a greater range of motion and usage of muscle groups and has been designed with independent arm resistance and converging and diverging movement paths.
The Chest Press provides a progressive strength curve that gradually increases force at the end of the movement when the user is in the strongest position, allowing more muscle engagement. Oversized handles make pressing exercises more comfortable by spreading the load over a larger area of the user's hand, and the easy seat adjustment means a broad range of user heights can be accommodated.
The Shoulder Press and Pull Down have four high durability weight horns providing storage for over 600lbs of plates, while the Seated Row provides large footplates and chest pad support which increases stabilisation for greater muscle concentration. Multiple grip positions also provide greater variety and fit options. The unsupported movement of the Low Row engages lower back and core muscle groups to improve balance and functional strength.
Signage on each piece of equipment includes a QR code allowing smart phone users to easily view a 30-second instructional video, as well as a large, easy-to-see text-free imagery that demonstrates correct form and muscle usage at a glance.
Miles Rimell, Director of Marketing for Precor EMEA and APAC, comments: “The new Precor Discovery Line Plate-Loaded offering provides gyms with a range that will enable them to promote usage of strength equipment to every member of their facility, as the pieces have been designed to be more inviting and user friendly.”
