PRESS RELEASE

How Kodobi's partnership with Arma BJJ reduced risks and elevated training experience

29 Aug 2025
Top-tier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy at Arma BJJ / Arma BJJ
Kodobi is proud to announce its engagement with Arma BJJ, a top-tier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) academy renowned for its community-driven training and high-performance ethos. With students and programmes expanding rapidly, Arma BJJ sought a health & safety partner to elevate operational standards while maintaining an engaging, immersive martial arts experience.

Our team didn’t just create generic checklists or tick boxes. We immersed ourselves in the culture of Arma BJJ, observing classes, talking with instructors, and understanding the rhythm of daily training. The goal? Build a health and safety framework that supports people, not restricts them.

What does that look like in practice?

Risk assessments specific to intense martial arts

Equipment safety and hygiene protocols that safeguard without slowing down the training in any way

Training that reaffirms readiness and confidence

Event and tournament safety planning to ensure that every open mat and competition goes without a hitch

Food Safety making sure that tasty meal preps and caffeine strong coffees are safe for all consumption.

Jamie, Managing Director at Kodobi, commented: "Having worked with some of the team at Arma before, myself and the team are excited to get stuck in with this contract. Not only is Arma bringing some of the most popular names in the BJJ industry to the club with some really exciting events, they are doing it with style with a real focus on giving their communities what they want Supporting that vision requires a health and safety approach that goes beyond compliance, one that safeguards people, culture, and performance."

KODOBI’s consultancy also extends to Arma’s competitions and public events, ensuring every open mat or tournament is managed safely, effi ciently, and in line with UK Health & Safety regulations.

By embedding ourselves in the environment rather than delivering off-the-shelf audits, Kodobi enables Arma BJJ to focus on what matters most: training, growth, and building a world-class martial arts community.

Testimonial
"When you normally think of health and safety, you immediately think of chores, and yet more paperwork. But Kodobi weren’t like that. This was certainly key for us. Working within the fitness industry we have to remain motivated to keep all our team motivated whilst working with our members, yet always thinking of their safety.

"Our Kodobi consultant seemed to gel well with each of our club Managers and the rest of the teams and have a good laugh during site visits whilst keeping eye on such a serious topic. Which ultimately got our managers on board enabling us to get where we needed to be. Our managers were even able to drop Kodobi a WhatsApp whenever necessary to gain specific advice as and when needed".

– Ben Gotting, director, The Foundry
