Tourism 'worth £317m' to Swansea Bay
New figures published by Swansea Council has found that visitor spending in the Swansea Bay area increased by 3 per cent last year - compared with data for 2009.
According to the Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor (STEAM), tourism has helped generate an additional £317m for the region. Swansea Council strategic manager for tourism, marketing and events Frances Jenkins said: "2010 was another very positive year for all sectors involved in tourism across Swansea Bay and these statistics reflect that."
