Sporta to launch impact study of leisure trusts
The Sports & Recreation Trusts Association (Sporta) has commissioned an independent impact study to evaluate the effect trusts have on participation and engagement in sports and the arts.
The research will be led by Durham-based consultants Helmepark and research company Leisure-net Solutions and will include an academic assessment by Fred Coalter, professor of sports policy at the University of Stirling.
Craig McAteer, Chair of sporta said: "The cuts to the public purse mean that it's more important than ever that we can prove the effectiveness of what we do across a number of areas, such as social and economic regeneration, crime reduction, health improvement and educational achievement."
