Sandhu wins achiever award

Karl Sandhu – a Gold’s Gym franchisee – has been crowned Young Achiever of the Year at the recent Eastern Eye Asian Business Awards.
Back in 1996, Sandhu acquired a 1,860sq m (20,000sq ft), derelict building in west London and worked with his dad and brother to design and construct a £4m Gold’s health club, learning the business at lightning speed.
He then went on to develop a similar fitness concept in east London before embarking on a £7m project in Harrow.
His latest venture is a £15m five-star hotel and health club in Hounslow, currently under construction. The facility is due to open in October.
