Pub partnership to drive Scottish tourism
VisitScotland and the Scottish Licensed Trade Association (SLTA) have joined forces to place pubs and bars at the heart of the Scottish tourism industry.
The partnership aims to encourage more people to visit drinking establishments, with SLTA members to be listed on VisitScotland's food and drink website. Scottish rural affairs secretary Richard Lochhead said: "Scotland's licensed trade plays a crucial part of our tourism offering. Tourism brings a revenue of £4bn and supports 200,000 jobs."
A new Best Bars quality scheme has also been launched to highlight and promote good bars, pubs and inns, with VisitScotland carrying out 'incognito' assessments.
