PCC unveils Life Centre viewing platform

Plymouth City Council (PCC) has opened a new viewing platform at the site of the £46.5m Life Centre development to provide the public with an elevated view of construction work.
Located to the east of the perimeter, the platform has been installed by the scheme's main contractor, Balfour Beatty, and will be open to visitors between 7.30am and 5pm. The platform, which measures 6m (19.7ft) long and 2.5m (8.2ft) wide, consists of wooden decking and is mounted on top of a steel storage cabin to provide a view of the entire construction site.
Balfour Beatty construction director John Bunker said: "This is a really great facility for everyone to use and see for themselves just how the construction of the Plymouth Life Centre is progressing." PCC leader Vivien Pengelly added: "The viewing platform is an excellent way for visitors to Central Park, the Mayflower Centre and Home Park to get a much better idea of how the Plymouth Life Centre is being constructed and how it's evolving day-by-day."
