Next Gen and David Lloyd announce Fitter Schools sponsorship
By Luke Tuchscherer
Next Generation Clubs and David Lloyd Leisure have announced that they will be sponsoring the Fitter Schools UK Challenge 2008.
Fronted by Ian Wright, the Fitter Schools scheme aims to bolster kids’ fitness levels throughout the UK.
Last year’s challenge saw more than one million children take part across nearly 3,000 schools, which has yielded an average improvement of 14.5 per cent in fitness levels in the children involved.
Sarah Hobbs, head of family at Next Generation Clubs and David Lloyd Leisure said: “The Fitter Schools UK Challenge provides a real opportunity to take simple yet effective activities into schools to help teachers and children develop their abilities and understanding of the importance of being active and we are delighted to once again be part of such an innovative project.”
Next Generation is owned by London & Regional, which acquired David Lloyd Leisure in July for £925m.
