National Media Museum to hold spending review
The National Media Museum in Bradford is undertaking a spending review after experiencing a fall in visitor numbers.
The three-week consultation will focus on cutting running costs and going "back to basics". Visits to the museum have halved since 2001, with 500,000 visiting the museum last year.
It is not clear how many jobs will be affected until the consultation period is over.
Deputy director of the Science Museum Group Heather Mayfield said the museum’s improved family offers have stabilised the decline.
Mayfield said: "The aim is to reconnect the museum with its audiences and underline its position as a national and international cultural force.
"We recognise that this is an extremely difficult time for staff and will ensure that the consultation will be conducted with the utmost consideration for any staff member affected."
