The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the US-based personal trainer certification firm, has been acquired by online testing company, the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI).
NASM was founded in 1987 to deliver personal fitness, sports performance and corrective exercise training credentials and education to health and fitness professionals worldwide. ATI was founded 10 years later and provides online testing, remediation and certification in the healthcare and professional licensing industries.
Chief executive of NASM, Dr Michael Clark, said: “Our mission, vision and promise remain the same. However, with the addition of ATI to the team, our customers and partners will see a greater commitment to product and customer service excellence than they experienced in the past.
“From online to hands-on training and all modalities in between, we’re passionate about creating world class professionals who can inspire the world through health and fitness.”
