Migros opens fourth Fitnesspark in Zurich
The Swiss co-operative, Migros, has opened another of its successful Fitnesspark health club brands in Zurich.
The two-storey facility is housed in a former steel works in the heart of the city’s West End, an area which has seen considerable investment over the past few years.
Around 19.5m Swiss Francs (£8.4m) has been invested in the 3,880sq m club, which is the fourth Fitnesspark to open in the city and offers a different mix of facilities to its sister sites.
In addition to a 650sq m fitness studio – equipped by Cybex, Precor and Hammerstrength – the site offers a 320sq m water world featuring a swimming pool, waterfalls, jet sprays and a spa bath.
A separate spa includes a 500sq m sauna area with mixed and women-only saunas, eucalyptus-infused steamroom, sanarium, experience showers and a mediation room with light therapy.
The centre also has a large wellness and spa area offering a mix of treatments such as reflexology, aromatherapy and sports massage. It will also offer a range of Ayurvedic treatments for the first time.
The company aims to attract 5,000 members to the facility, which already boasted 3,000 when it opened last month and is open to all Migros members.
The company plans to open a further Fitnesspark on the outskirts of the city in November.
