Matrix has launched its updated 7xi console and software for cardio machines.

Designed for improved connectivity and easy-to-navigate touch screen, gym members can adjust settings, launch content, check the weather, access social media streams or watch a video.

A new layout keeps workout information, feedback and equipment controls visible and easy to access all at the touch of a button.

The updated 7xi console also features applications such as Virtual Active, Asset Management, Sprint 8 High Intensity Interval Training Programme and The Personal Trainer Portal.

Matrix rower offers ‘finest’ rowing out of water

Matrix Fitness has also relaunched one of its hero cardio products - the Matrix rower.

Mark Zabel, vice president for Global Marketing at Johnson Health Tech, owner of Matrix Fitness, says of the reworked machine: “Attention was given to every detail, and we’re confident that the new rower from Matrix offers the finest rowing experience out of water.

“We set out to engineer a rower into multi-modality circuits, health club cardio floors, specialised rowing classes and elite athletic training facilities.”

The traditional fan has been replaced with quieter magnetic resistance and a flywheel, the footprint is now smaller, and the rower can be upended and repositioned for circuits and on the cardio floor.

The seat width is increased to give more comfort, and can be locked in place, giving a stable base for rehabilitation or the active ageing.

Premium solid steel foundations, reinforced with stainless steel strips enable the rower to withstand increased levels of use.

The new, self-powered, adjustable backlit console can be seen in dark classes, and program quick keys allow users to switch between sprinting distance rowing, and high-intensity interval training programs during fast-paced cardio circuits.
