Martin-Jenkins named new MCC president
BBC cricket commentator Christopher Martin-Jenkins has been appointed as the next president of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
A former cricket reporter for The Times newspaper, Martin-Jenkins will serve a one-year term starting on 1 October after his appointment was confirmed at the MCC's AGM on 5 May. Current MCC president John Barclay said: "Working within the world of cricket for more than 40 years, he [Martin-Jenkins] is, I believe, ideally placed to serve as MCC president.
"He could be described as the 'voice of cricket' - when CMJ appears on the radio, he makes you feel that all is right with the world."
