Kiehl's opens first branded spa
New York-based skincare and haircare company Kiehl's has revealed its first-ever spa facility on the US city's Upper East Side.
Sited on the second floor of a new 'Kiehl's Since 1851' retail store, Spa 1851 is to offer skin, body and hair treatments for both men and women.
The new spa has a separate entrance to the retail store and features a waiting lounge, three treatment rooms and a separate grooming station.
In a bid to provide "something extra", all scheduled treatments will be preceded by the Kiehl's Signature Greeting - a neck, arm, hand and foot massage with lavender.
Meanwhile, signature facials will start with a personalised skin diagnosis to determine the course of treatment for each guest.
Kiehl's is the latest consumer brand to move into spa operations, following others such as Nivea, Molton Brown, Sulwhasoo, Dove and L'Occitane, which announced its India rollout proposals in July 2010.
Kiehl's USA president Chris Salgardo said: "Actually being able to use our formulas in a full spa environment is the ultimate way to experience Kiehl's.
"New York is our hometown, our original community, and as we honour that mission with each new project, serving our customers and community to the best of our abilities is even more important here."
