Gala goes online

Bingo and casino operator, the Gala group has broken into online gaming with the acquisition of Jamba.co.uk from Carton Interactve.
The acquistion comprises the site, the brand and its associated customer base of more than 750,000 people. The site offers players a choice of around 20 games including quizzes, game shows and card games.
Carlton International will work with Gala to develop the site into a pay to play enterprise with more games, including an offshore casino.
'Within nine months the site will have a diverse product offering with links to offshore sites to improve the variety of games and prize money that can be offered,' said Brian Mattingley, a director at Gala Group.
