Fresh concerns over Delhi delays
Fresh concerns have been raised by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) over ongoing delays in the preparations for the Delhi Games later this year.
A visit by the CGF's co-ordination commission found that a series of venues have yet to be delivered, which could hinder the efforts of organisers ahead of the Games' scheduled 3 October start. The JLN Stadium - set to be used for athletics and ceremonies - and the Talkatora Swimming Complex have still not been handed over, with the Games Village due to open on 16 September.
However, the commission praised Delhi's organising committee for its increased efforts since December and has urged continued acceleration in work to deliver the remaining projects.
