Fitness heavyweight wins court battle

A 17 stone fitness instructor from San Franciso has won a legal battle after San Diego based dance fitness company, Jazzercise, turned down her job application because she did not look 'trim'.
The company claimed, in a letter to Jennifer Portnick, that Jazzercise applicants must have a high muscle to fat ratio and look leaner than the public.
Under San Francisco law, which bans discrimination on grounds of height and weight, Mrs Portnick sued the company and forced them to change its policy.
Mrs Portnick no longer wishes to work for Jazzercise, having set up her own successful fitness company.
