Djanogly leisure centre to open in April
The new £6.44m Djanogly Community Leisure Centre (DCLC) in Hyson Green, Nottingham, will open to the public on 6 April.
The new facility will replace the existing Noel Street Leisure Centre which is set to close as the new centre opens.
Facilities at the DCLC will include a 50-station fitness suite equipped by Technogym, a multi-activity studio, a 25m swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms.
The scheme forms part of Nottingham City Council's (NCC) £32m Leisure Centre Transformation Programme to improve the city's sports provision.
The centre has been funded by Nottingham City Council, but also received a £2.2m contribution from the Neighbourhood Development Company and a £1m grant from Sport England's Swim Modernisation Programme.
The facility was designed by Archial Architects and is being built by ISG Regions.
