Cornish health clubs refurbished

Caradon District Council has teamed up with Summit Leisure Solutions (SLS), based in Chertsey, Surrey, to revamp the Saltash and Lux Park leisure centres in southeast Cornwall.
As well as overseeing the building work, SLS is providing funding for the project, which includes a complete refurbishment of both sites and the installation of Life Fitness cardio and strength equipment.
Michele Baker-Caton, leisure services manager at Caradon District Council, commented: “With limited resources and expertise in the leisure development sector, we’ve found the support of SLS invaluable.”
The 43-station Saltash Leisure Centre reopened in July, with new dance studio, creche facility and changing rooms. Lux Park is to undergo similar work in December and open in January 2007.
