Children's health club opens in Maidstone

A health club for children is due to launch next month in Maidstone, Kent.
The concept is the brainchild of Jill Maynard, who has 20 years’ experience in the health and fitness industry and who decided to pursue the venture after discovering SHOKK fitness equipment for children 18 months ago. Costing more than £100,000 of private investment, the facility will house a gym complete with 25 pieces of SHOKK cv and resistance equipment, a studio, café and juice bar. The club will target eight- to 16-year-olds and provide group training for specific age groups. Children will have four induction classes before using the gym and will be limited to two hours on site. The gym will offer monthly as well as pay as you play membership to be accessible to children from all backgrounds. Schools will use the facility during the day and it will available to children in the evenings and weekends. The site is also expected to be used for GP referrals. Police checks will be conducted on all staff, who will also complete a three-day SHOKK training course, which is REPs registered.A health club for children is due to launch next month in Maidstone, Kent.
