CMAE expands into Germany
The Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) has made its Certified Club Manager (CCM) qualification available for the German market.
An affiliation agreement will enable more than 430 members of the Golf Management Verband Deutschland (GMVD) to have access to the benchmark course, accepted as an industry standard across much of Europe and America.
The agreement follows similar moves by 11 other European organisations, including golf club manager associations in Sweden, Ireland, Spain and Portugal, making the CCM qualification available to more than 3,000 club managers in 18 countries.
Matthias Nicolaus, president of GMVD, said: “We recognise that our members work in an international market and that for them to be able to demonstrate they are the best in the business and develop their careers both in Germany and globally, an internationally recognised qualification is essential.
“We welcome affiliation with the CMAE. It offers a perfect link to our members between the just established CCM programme for the German speaking countries and the international recognised programme.”
The Certified Club Manager qualification is open to suitably experienced managers and involves a two-day review and examination focusing on key club management disciplines.
The first candidates will take the exam on October 15 and 16, 2008, in London.
