New toddler play area for Southwark
A former concrete space at the Kingslake Estate in Southwark, south London, has been transformed into a new £80,000 play area for toddlers.
Funding for the scheme was provided by Southwark Council's Cleaner Greener Safer programme, with equipment including a multi-play unit, swings and a see saw. Southwark Council cabinet member for transport, environment and recycling Barry Hargrove said: "Providing areas like this for our very young to play in is an important part of improving our public spaces."
Martin Seaton, chair of Walworth Community Council, added: "The new toddler play area is one of the most popular attractions funded by the Walworth Community Council Cleaner Greener Safer fund."
