The Hoxton Urban Lodge is offering Londoners the chance to rent rooms by the day in a bid to fill rooms during empty hours.
The new venture, called The Private Office, offers visitors a room for £19 per day between 10am and 4pm for individuals looking for a place to work. Each room is equipped with a workstation, free WiFi and one hour of local phone calls.
Other budget pricing offers include £1 rooms and and a selection of rooms available at £29 a night. Fully priced rooms range from £59 to £199 a night.
Owner of Hoxton and co-founder of Prét A Manger, Sinclair Beecham, is recently understood to have put the reigns on plans for the nationwide roll out of his flagship Hoxton Hotel.
Beecham has responded to the hearsay, explaining: “We’re doing what any business would do in the circumstances; we’re trying to decide what the right thing to do is in the current market and are taking a more cautious approach.”
