£75,000 outdoor gym for Southwark park
A new £75,000 outdoor gym facility has been installed by Southwark Council on the site of a former pub in Burgess Park, South London.
Fitness and weight training equipment designed for users of all ages have been provided as part of the council's bid to overhaul the park. The gym facility has been funded by the Aylesbury NDC - now called the Creation Trust - and aims to help residents keep fit.
Barrie Hargrove, Southwark Council's cabinet member for transport, environment and recycling, said: "Gyms like these give everyone the opportunity to keep fit, and give local park users more of a sense of pride in their park."
