Indoor-cycling guru and Spinning inventor Johnny G has secured a development partnership with Dyaco, and its Spirit Fitness brand, to create the new Johnny G by Spirit Bike.

The self-powered bike, which launched at FIBO earlier this month, is designed to offer a premium indoor cycling solution for riders of all abilities. It features 20 levels of electronically controlled, magnetic resistance, which allows users to tailor their resistance, and has easy access electronic shifters, enabling users to change their resistance during their workout at just the touch of a button. The bike displays users' performance metrics - including resistance level, watts, RPM, time elapsed, distance, speed and heart rate - on a LED display, and also retains this data for users to analyse after training.

Additionally, it has a corrosion resistant steel frame that has been electroplated and powder-coated to ensure its longevity, and features a hybrid-feel, toothed cog drive belt, which, which combines the immediate power transfer of a chain and the low maintenance operation of a belt. "I've turned the philosophical and practical into what I think fitness is, which is enjoyment of life. It's the right time and place for this – there's a big future in indoor cycling and there's a big future in self-development", Johnny G tells Health Club Management.
