Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) has completed an £800,000 upgrade to its fitness facilities at The Link Centre in west Swindon.

The five-month transformation, carried out by leisure, design and build specialist Createabilty, has seen the gym facilities increase in size from 195 sq m (2,099 sq ft) to 845 sq m (9,096 sq ft).

The main studio has been refurbished and a first-floor area has been remodelled to form a new spin studio.

The cardiovascular, resistance and functional training space has been kitted out with 115 stations of Technogym equipment, along with areas for fitness instruction and fitness testing. The gym also has a Technogym Skillmill Connect, a non-motorised treadmill-like machine controlled solely by the user to provide all-round athletic performance and rehabilitation training.

Work on the gym includes new ceilings, lighting and ventilation, while the cardiovascular zone has Karndean flooring, the resistance area features Bladerunner rubber sports flooring, and the functional area has been fitted with astro turf.

The upgrade is the final part of a three-phase project, with the previous two phases completed in early 2016. They included an eight-court sports hall being transformed in to a 1,000 sq m (10,764 sq ft) trampoline park, relocation of the reception area, and refurbishment of the café and concourse areas.
