Matrix Fitness wins Blackpool gym contract

Blackpool Council has selected Matrix Fitness to supply equipment for its newest health and fitness facility.
The company will supply cardio equipment from its ‘7xi’ series including treadmills, ellipticals, and cycles, and will also be involved in suggesting efficient layouts to maximise the available space at the site.
The 7xi console combines high-definition displays, a range of entertainment options, and a responsive touchscreen interface with Internet and social media access. Designed to mirror tablet computers and optimised for exercisers, the app interface offers little to no typing and simple navigation.
Strength equipment from Matrix Fitness’ Ultra range will also be supplied to the gym, as well as a selection of Inclusive Fitness Initiative accredited cardio and strength equipment.
The local authority currently operates three leisure sites in the UK seaside town, but is now adding a new gym facility on the ground floor of its new offices. The gym is scheduled to open in the summer, and will serve the more than 700 staff employed in the building, as well as corporate customers and the wider community.
