Little Chef CEO quits
Ian Pegler, chief executive of roadside restaurant chain Little Chef, has left the company.
In a statement the company said: "Following delivery of the initial two-year plan for the regeneration of Little Chef, Ian Pegler has left the business." His replacement has so far not been named. It was Pegler who brought in Michelin-starred chef Heston Blumenthal in a move designed to update Little Chef's offering. Although the two men frequently disagreed, Blumenthal's reinvention of the chain's Popham, near Basingstoke, restaurant was a startling success.
As a result, Little Chef outlets in Kettering, York and Oxford were given the same treatment and other sites have been shortlisted.
