The company manages the sites on behalf of local authorities and in his former role, King was the partnership manager for Serco at the Bolton Community Leisure Trust, which recently achieved charitable status.
During his two years at Bolton, King’s team achieved impressive financial growth by improving the marketing and service levels at the centres.
Prior to this, King was a regional manager with Fitness First and opened Virgin Active’s Preston site in 1999 as the company’s first general manager. He has also worked at Next Generation and Leisure Connection.
