April launch for Waveney leisure trust

Waveney District Council (WDC) has confirmed that a new organisation - Sentinel Leisure Trust - is to take over the operation of its leisure services from 1 April.
WDC's cabinet gave the final green light to the proposals at its meeting on 22 March, which will see local facilities operated by the trust for a minimum of 15 years. Two council members will act as trustees until annual appointments are made, with a chair to be elected by the board in April.
Victoria Beck, former principal service manager for leisure at WDC, is to be chief executive of Sentinel Leisure Trust.
