About Everyone Active

Everyone Active are one of the leadingleisure management companies in the

UK. We currently manage more than 140high quality leisure centres with fantastic

facilities, in partnership with 40 localauthorities. These stretch from Sunderland

in the north, to Mid Suffolk in the east,Chichester in the south and Plymouth in

the south west. They also include someof the top leisure facilities in the London

boroughs of Southwark and Westminster.

We’re expanding rapidly and have takenon the management of 22 new swimming

ASA, we off er lessons for children and adults.

About our school swimming

Everyone Active deliver a range of fantasticschool swimming programmes which are

designed to help schools achieve the KeyStage 2 recommended target for skills.

We work with school children of all

ages, offering them a comprehensiveprogramme of learning which feeds into

further opportunities in the water outsidethe school environment.

We teach in excess of 28,000 children

each week from 430 schools, through ourintensive 15?day swim teaching model and

weekly term-time model.

About our swimming lessons

Our Learn to Swim programme is deliveredat 88 locations to more than 110,000 children

each week. Lessons start for children asyoung as four months old and are available

for all ages. They run for 50 weeks of the year,with students working towards ASA Award

Scheme badges and certificates.

Our new Aqua Passport enables teachersto log children’s attendance and progress

at the poolside. Parents and students canthen access this information. It also displays

video feeds for children who struggle tounderstand spoken instructions.

As well as our state?of?the?art swimming

facilities and innovative technology,Everyone Active also dedicates resources to

upskilling members of the team and offeringongoing training. During the last 12 months

the company have sponsored colleagues toattend ASA Level 1 and Level 2 courses, as

well as offering CPD places to support thedevelopment of our swim team. We have 30

training venues in which we deliver trainingcourses, and are keen to attract passionate

individuals to the company who have adesire to follow a career in aquatics.

  Lucy Carter joined Everyone

Active Westcroft Leisure Centre in2015 as an aquatic apprentice.

“I’ve been swimming from a

young age and when looking fora career I knew I wanted to work

in fitness and teach children: mymum’s a swimming teacher and

has always enjoyed her job.

After completing myLevel 1 ASA qualification, I

joined Westcroft Leisure Centreas an Aquatic Apprentice.

This enabled me to gain my

Level 2 and meant I could startteaching my own classes, which

is something I really enjoy.

I teach the same children everyweek and can really see their

progress. Myown confidence

has grown inthe role too and

I’ve completed additional CPDcourses alongside my swimming

teaching. I’ve also been able toqualify as a lifeguard.

Th is month I finished my

apprenticeship and have takenup a new role managing school

swimming lessons.

I love being part of theEveryone Active team – it

feels like a family, with areally supportive and friendly

environment. Working withexperienced teachers means I’m

learning and growing.”

LISA REEDER

 Lisa Reeder has progressed fromswimming teacher to regional

swim impact manager atSpelthorne Leisure Centre.

“Seeing my own children

enjoying swimming lessonsinspired me to train as a teacher.

I completed Level 1 and 2 ASA

qualifications in 2006 and joinedEveryone Active part-time.

I also took on an admin role

managing school swimminglessons and enjoyed it so much

I applied to become a swimmanager. From there I was

promoted to regional swimimpact manager.

Th is involves managing 25

teachers, 1,800 children and15 schools, so

there’s lots oforganisation

required!

Being dyslexic hasn’t held meback and Everyone Active has

been supportive with training.

I still teach one?to?onesessions for children with

special needs on Sundays andseeing them lose their nerves

and go home with a smile ontheir face is hugely rewarding.

It’s also important I look aft er

my team, making sure theyprogress and develop their skills

to ensure they deliver the highstandard of teaching we need

for our Swim School.”

CHARLOTTE CHAMBERS

 Charlotte Chambers joinedHucknall Leisure Centre as a

lifeguard aged 16 and is now aswim lesson manager.

“I always enjoyed swimming as

a child and I love seeing peopleprogress, so becoming a teacher

seemed the perfect role.

I joined Everyone Activeas a lifeguard, then took my

Level 1 and Level 2 swimteacher qualifications – at the

time I was the first 17?year?oldto take the qualification and I

was determined to make themost of the opportunity!

I taught lessons as part of

the Swim Scheme three days aweek for the next three years,

while takingCPD courses in

water polo, childprotection, adult

teaching and more.

I headed abroad for atime to teach and returned

in November 2015, as I loveworking here. I was given the

opportunity to progress toswim lesson manager, which

was really exciting.

I now work to improvethe numbers of participants

and make the Swim Schoola success. I also spend time

watching swimming teachersand helping them to progress to

swim managers themselves.”
