Venerable Guernsey club installs Power Plate
Kings Life Racquets and Health Club in Guernsey - reported to be the second oldest tennis club in the world - has recently installed five Power Plate® Acceleration Training™ machines.
The move coincides with the club's 150th anniversary and is part of a £400,000 refurbishment project.
Four of the machines have been installed in a bespoke studio which offers 10 classes a week including Power Plate® Fat Burner, Power Plate® Strength and club's own Power Plate® Racquets.
The fifth machine is on the gym floor and provides tailored individual or group training programmes.
In a separate development, Bridgend County Borough Council has become the first local authority in South Wales to purchase Power Plate machines as part of a county wide GP referral scheme.
Seven of them have been installed across six sites in the region as part of the council's commitment to getting as many people as possible to take up exercise.
Further east and ahead of this year's tennis championships, the Lawn Tennis Association has installed a Power Plate in the gym at Wimbledon for players to use both as part of their training programmes and for rehabilitation from injuries.
