Tanita launches Ironman range of body composition monitors
A new range of body composition monitors is enabling those training for extreme endurance challenges to gain a true understanding of the impact of their nutritional and fitness state.
Tanita Europe’s ‘Ironman’ monitors are designed for home use and enable professionals or those training for their first event to monitor vital statistics, using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) technology.
Each of the three new models measures weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass, basal metabolic rate (BMR), body water percentage, visceral fat and bone mass to help users set a baseline for development, maintain a high level of training accuracy and help avoid injury.
According to Tanita, the ‘BC1500’ is currently the world’s only wireless segmental scale, featuring ANT+ radio wireless technology to connect users to free software that instantly records, graphs and analyses readings on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
The ‘BC 350’ is a lightweight and portable monitor providing nine body composition readings. It measures just over half an inch in thickness and weighs slightly over three pounds.
Finally, the ‘BC 549’ is a tempered glass monitor providing body composition readings on a clear surface without visible electrodes. It also has a wider platform and a blue backlit LCD display.
